Due to the recent announcements made by our local, provincial and federal governments and that all schools are closed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, we wanted to take a moment to address this serious issue and what it means for ATTACK SPORTS.
We are carefully monitoring the situation and relying on reputable sources to ensure best practices are followed. As a result ATTACK SPORTS is hoping to re-open our facility in the coming weeks. We are targeting the first part of June 2020.
As always, the health and safety of all our athletes, instructors and staff continue to be our top priority. As we receive updates from the City of Calgary, Alberta Health Services, the Alberta government, the Canadian government and the World Health Organization, we will respond and act in accordance with those recommendations.
For the latest detailed information from AHS, please visit - Alberta Health Services website.
Here is What We are Doing at ATTACK SPORTS
We are focused on being proactive. We are relying on the guidance of AHS and will continue to implement an action plan based on their recommendations.
First, we have established a questionnaire to ensure the safety of all our participants, instructors and staff. If you are planning on coming to our facility, we require that the questionnaire be completed prior to your arrival. Please CLICK HERE to complete the questionnaire. If you have any questions about this questionnaire, please contact us.
The ATTACK SPORTS Facility and all equipment has been cleaned with bleach. When we are able to re-open our doors, we will knowingly that our facility is a very clean place for our athletes. There will be multiple hand sanitizer bottles at the front desk and inside our training areas for our participants, instructors and staff to use.
ATTACK SPORTS will have our cleaning staff (plus our instructors and staff) completing extra disinfecting around the facility, particularly high touch areas including door handles, bathrooms, training pads and equipment. As always, we use Lysol disinfectant and bleach on all our surfaces. This will happen multiple times throughout the day, plus a more thorough cleaning nightly once all participants have left the facility.
ATTACK SPORTS will be having multiple breaks when appropriate (i.e. throughout the day for day-long programming) to ensure each participant is washing their hands.
Once open, ATTACK SPORTS will reduce the number of athletes in each class, camp and/or training sessions. ATTACK SPORTS will also only permit athletes (sorry no parents in the lobby) into our facility. We will also require each participant to wash their hands (with warm water and soap) and have their temperature taken. Parents are requested to DROP-OFF their children at the front doors and PICK-UP their children from the back doors.
If you and/or your family members have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days and/or have had close contact with a confirmed and/or probable case of COVID-19 and/or are now experiencing symptoms, we ask that you refrain from coming to our facility. Please, let us know immediately so we can alert health authorities and follow their guidance. For any future travel plans, please refer to AHS guidelines upon your return.
Please call Health Link 811 if you are showing symptoms and feel you may have been exposed to COVID-19.
As always, we adhere to our standard Attack Sports Illness Policy
If your child (or parent) has any one (or more) of the following symptoms, please do not bring them (or yourself) to our training facility:
Severe cough or flu
Hand, Foot and Mouth disease
Croup or persistent cough
Any contagious condition or symptom that has not been listed as this is not an exhaustive list.
If you are unsure, please call ATTACK SPORTS to double-check. Any ill children will be sent home immediately. Please be considerate of the other participants, our instructors and staff. If your child is ill, please keep them at home until they are well.
Thank you for your continued support. As developments unfold both globally and locally regarding COVID-19, we will provide ongoing updates. As always, please let us known if you have any questions or concerns.
WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
