Our Team

Austin Ross (Director of Strength & Conditioning)

Austin Ross, or Coach Ozzy, came to Attack from the Canadian Sport Institute where he was a Strength and Conditioning Coach for 4 years. While there, he learned to find success with athletes of every ability by working with grass-roots athletes all the way up to national team perennials and everything in between. Ozzy has been an athlete all his life and earned a volleyball scholarship from the University of New Brunswick as a libero. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at UNB and soon after earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist badge from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Austin loves spending time in the mountains and is now a competitive rock climber.

From Ozzy:

"Naturally, I am a very below-average athlete. My middle school and high school years were spent suffering from back pain and playing low-level sports. I began strength training in Grade 10 when I decided that I wanted to play post-secondary volleyball. The only problem was that I wasn't doing the right stuff and I definitely wasn't doing anything with correct form. Despite my hard work, I wasn't becoming more athletic and my body was hurting more than ever.

"I was barely recruited but managed to land a spot on an East Coast volleyball team. Fast forward a couple of months when I began playing ball at UNB and started training with my first-ever strength and conditioning coach. Everything was new. He didn't have us trying to max out our bench press every single day or do muscle-ups until our shoulders didn't work. I was finally doing the right things and it felt amazing. All of a sudden my body stopped hurting and I rapidly became a way better athlete. My relentless effort was finally paying off. I realized the effects that quality, structured strength training can have. My life changed.

"I pursued this path in life for the athletes like me. The ones who desperately want to get better but don't know how to. The ones who have suffered their whole life with injuries. The ones who prefer when their hands are callused from the rough edges of a barbell. My mission is to provide a path to athletic excellence for every single athlete who chooses to train with me."
